The beach Charca de la Laja

Playa Charca de la Laja is a true hidden gem! This intense light blue lagoon is the ideal location for a swim. Nature created some kind of puddle here, so the water is nice and warm. Also suitable for children because the water is shallow. This place is very picturesque, especially from a distance and from above. It is not the most touristic beach, but it is also not abandoned. If you are driving along the east coast to the northern side of Lanzarote, you should definitely make a stop here.

Facilities

There are no restaurants or bars located near this beach, and the village of Órzola is the closest place where you can find a supermarket. However, this place is beautiful and ideal for families because the water is really shallow.

Accessibility

Playa Charca de la Laja is located on the Northeastern side of the island, nearby Órzola. You can easily reach this place by car, and there is a small dirt road parking place here. We think it is possible to get to this place by public transport. Therefore, you should go to Órzola and walk from there.

Tips and Tricks

One of the most famous natural pools in Lanzarote is Los Charconnes. However, we would highly recommend you visit Playa Church de la Laja instead. In our opinion, this place was way more beautiful and easier to access.

Best time to visit

Because the weather in Lanzarote is good all year round, you can visit this place anytime. However, for the entire beach experience, try visiting on a warm summer day. In wintertime, the water can be pretty cold.
