One of the most beautiful lagoons in Lanzarote is Playa Caleta del Mojon Blanco. This gem is located on the Northern side of Lanzarote, on the east coast. The waters are truly clear azure and green colored, and you can find some man-built stone piles to protect you from the wind. This makes the beach a great one for sunbathing! It is beautiful, and also not a really touristic place. Perfect for a relaxing beach day.
There are no restaurants, no bars, or supermarkets near this beach. Be sure that you bring enough water and food for the day. Otherwise, you have to drive to the nearby village Órzola where you can visit a supermarket.
Playa Calete del Mojon Blanco is easy to reach by car. Just drive up to the most northeastern side of the island. Just before you reach Órzola, you can find this hidden gem. It is not really obvious, but if you’re lucky you can see a few cars at the side of the road, so you’ll know that you have to be there. We won’t recommend traveling by public transport. Probably the only bus stop you can find here is Órzola, and it’s quite a hike from there.
It can be very windy on Lanzarote, but you don’t have to be afraid of sand storms if you plan a beach day at Playa Caleta del Mojon Blanco. There are some stone shelters on the beach where you can lay your beach towel so you will be protected from the sand.
You can visit this beach all year round. However, we recommend you visit in the summertime if you want to have a full beach experience.
We are Maury, Dave and Zoë. We love to explore the most beautiful locations in the world and capture everything for you!
