Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca is a beautiful town located on the island’s southern side. It is quite a large town, but it doesn’t feel so if you’re strolling around here.

Playa Flamingo at Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca is wonderful and has enough bars and restaurants to enjoy your time. The place is also surrounded by many beautiful beaches, such as Playa Flamingo, located in Playa Blanca. The 5 lagoons of Playa Papagayo are located a short drive from here. Playa Blanca is also the ideal home base if you’re planning to visit the Timanfaya National Park, the volcanic area of Lanzarote, or any of the other beautiful natural phenomena that this island has to offer.

Accessibility

Playa Blanca is one of the biggest towns in Lanzarote, and therefore, it is easy to access. You can get there by car or take public transport, and another, more expensive option is a taxi. In general, taxis are not really expensive on Lanzarote.

Tips and Tricks

If you are in Playa Blanca, you should really visit Playa Flamingo. A beautiful lagoon and especially perfect for families because the man-made piles of rocks protect the lagoon from high waves. Read here more about this beautiful beach.

Where to eat

Playa Blanca also has a lot of restaurants, of course, but we really enjoyed one of them: El Brisa del Mar. The food was good, the service was great, and especially the location we enjoyed. You sit nearby the water, with beautiful views. Some windshields can protect you from the wind if it is colder. Read here more about this great restaurant.
